Yep, 1/4 of a Century really set us back, especially when you take into account how negligent & apathetic the passing administrations were towards Athletics…
Hell, some even attempted to get rid of Athletics altogether, iirc.

I think UH Men’s Basketball is ready to compete at the highest levels of the SEC right now. I would place football as mid-tier SEC. Not ready to go to the SEC Championship Game, but with an upward trajectory.
Adults on a Disney Cruise weren’t big college sports fans?

By the by I have a Cougar banner in my front yard and have encountered people doing their daily walk while outside.
If they comment it is about their knowledge of Cougar basketball. Not Football. No one ever has remarked about Football.
We seem to be known as a Basketball school.

… Im a huge college sports fan, and I’ve been on 3 Disney cruises… because I have kids lol.
I don’t give a poop about Mickey Mouse or Marvel or any of that stuff but Disney has great cruises and an even better kids club so we can hang out as adults while they hang there
My wife is a travel agent… hit us up for next vacation

I miss the days when UC thought of itself as a Basketball school. Im not a football guy. Football is necessary evil that got us into the big 12 but now that we’re here, we should shift all money and focus into basketball.
I think it’s far more likely that UC and Houston win national championships and compete at the highest level in basketball than it is for football. we struck lightning in bottle once in football and BAMA put us in our place shortly after but the reality is… Football is for big 10 and Sec schools

Live in Georgetown. Neighborhood full of transplants. My neighbors are from Chicago, Brooklyn, California, Philadelphia, etc.
They and others see UH as a Basketball school. Easy to see why. We have 2 Final Fours recently while our Football program declined since Tom Herman left.

Since the year 2015, UH basketball had a slow improvement in attendance and media time in the Houston area but football was getting most of the attention since we were decent and ranked.
It wasn’t until our first tournament run in 2018 that locals took notice and it took off after the 2021 final four appearance.
I wish this was reversed

She did about 400,000 in sales last year. Basically she does the all crap that people don’t want to mess with. They send her a budget and she finds the best deal.
That said she has a full time work from home job too. Goal with her travel agency stuff has been to cover our own vacations with commissions
