my favorite is to think about the astronomical unit, which is the distance for the earth to the sun, that is one astronomical unit. most people can grasp that.
the observable universe is 5,881,413,000,000 astronomical units.

My favorite “size of the Universe” factoid is an estimate that there are more stars in the universe than grains of sand on all the beaches and deserts on Earth.
That’s a lot of stars !!!
