My favorite was seeing people use their stroller as a cart at Spec’s while carrying the child.
Yeah as you know summers are rough here in TX
But I’d have a hard time handling a northern winter
Coldest I’ve ever experienced was a winter morning in Schenectady NY…10 below
No thank you
My new favorite soccer player. Nothing says I had a great time while visiting the USA than buying a stuffed raccoon drinking a little whiskey to take home.
It isn’t one day cold. It’s the unrelenting cold. I’ve seen a February that never got above freezing. You stay indoors, the air is incredibly dry. I hate the cold with a passion. When the Army sent me to SE Asia, I realized I could never go back. I did. On Dec 12, 1975 the NY Times had a front page story about “Booming Houston”. In NY I couldn’t find a decent job, everyone hated ex-GIs. I checked the temperature in Houston, it was 75. It was the I decided to apply to UH. Bought a VW Bus for $500, installed an 8-track tape player and had one tape. Headed to Houston.
Oh, the one tape? “Lynyrd Skynyrd”
I hope it was “Sweet Home Alabama.” I love the line which says “I hope Neil Young will remember Southern man don’t need him around anyhow.”
Nope, 8 songs. I claim that no one has listened to Simple Man and Free Bird more than I have.
I don’t remember that one but yea, that was pretty good.
You win. I made peace with myself when I realized I hate “Free Bird,” “In-a-Gadda-da-Vida,” and “Layla.”
