I grew up in New York and today I learned — “The New York Yankees logo, the iconic interlocking ‘NY,’ was first used in 1877 by the New York City Police Department for a medal designed by Louis B. Tiffany for officer John McDowell, who was shot on duty. The team, then called the Highlanders, adopted it in 1909 when Bill Devery, a former police chief and team owner, brought it over. It’s been tweaked over time but has stayed a core part of the Yankees’ identity since.” (Grok)

I’m just picturing my old Texas German grandpa stepping on jacks. He rarely opened his mouth, except to yell. :joy: I’m pretty sure I heard from my aunts that jacks were banned from their house.

Random thought, but why is Klein ISD making their grads and families drive all the way to NRG for graduation?

Only reason I can think is that Klein ISD gets a cut of that $25/car parking fee…

I’d guess some of it is so they don’t have to limit guests per grad. You also don’t have to worry about weather.

Any parking revenue would likely be eaten by the cost to rent the facility.

When my son started working at NRG, he was resposible for the signs. I asked why. He said “I’m the only one who can spell”
