This is just totally embarrassing. To me academic progress is as important, if not more important, than finding money to pay our semi-pros otherwise known as student athletes. I just couldn’t believe last.
Huge number of transfers both in and out probably affected that.
Guess who was head coach during the reporting period? Dana Holgorsen.
This is another opportunity for Coach Fritz to separate himself from the previous regime.
Knowing how much Dr. Khator places on academics, I’m sure improvement is a priority.
What’s really sad is the degrees they are pursuing are the equivalent of underwater basket weaving and we still score low.
Pretty terrible for Houston to be dead ass last in academics for football. Dana was as terrible in this respect as he was everything else.
Your dead on about the majors - but also another factor they’re not accounting for is how many players that transferred/cut/quit ended up playing elsewhere and graduated from somewhere else so we can retain an Apr point -
doesn’t look like many which hurts UH’s APR also
UA is 11th? UA is academically a great school. At 11th I am stunned.
The following B12 universities are AAU. Look at their B12 academic ranking according to the NCAA progress rate:
Arizona - 12
Arizona St. - 10
Colorado - 14
Kansas - 11
Utah - 6
I learned that AAU uses different metrics to calculate academic progress than the NCAA, and to try and correlate the two is to compare apples to oranges.
