Inside Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark’s visit with the Houston Cougars
He’ll be here Saturday for the Kansas game. I hope we have 30k in attendance!!!
I hope the $12 tickets are helping. So glad Pez decided to do that and hope it’s the norm to mop up empty seats each game. It would be tough to pass up because you get an outing for 2 or 4 on the cheap.
You could give 1 dollar tickets and we wouldn’t sell out. That is the cold hard truth.
We haven’t announced 30,000+ at TDECU since Dana has been here.
We need better marketing and emails to all Houston alums when selling cheap tics or phone calls to them. The chronicle had the $12 promo 2 times in the paper but not everyone gets the paper.
Good stuff, Andy. Appreciate the work you & the Roundball Review do covering our Coogs.
Something I noticed while Yormark was being interviewed was how fidgety and uneasy he seemed. Maybe it was just me, but out of all the interviews I’ve seen him in so far, he seemed to send an uncomfortable body language during today’s interview…how did you perceive him?
Perhaps it’s the toll traveling & visiting 11 school campuses across the country just listening will take on an older gentleman’s body or the rapid-fire questions coming from all over the room about Big 12 Expansion lol
Call Gov Abbott and roll in some buses.
Ok that was funny, and wrong at the same.
That’s a good observation. It might just be that he needs to move around or has trouble staying still lol. But from a conversation standpoint, he was firm and did a good job in getting across the messages he wanted to. He was specific in what he said and didn’t say. Certainly has a lot of ideas for where he wants to take the conference.
Also before he started asking questions, he made it a point to go around the room and shake every media member’s hands and introduce himself.
Appreciate the constant coverage these days.
Yeah, I agree.
Was kinda hoping someone would ask him what advantages he saw in the unique position of having a team in America’s 4th largest city, with a HUGE draw for music & performance (ex. Rap & Hip Hop, Pop Music, Reggaeton & Country music).
That probably would’ve gotten him talking & giving more insight since Music Entertainment & Marketing is his bread & butter.
He seems to be a high energy guy wanting to get things done so he’s restless sitting there. He was direct and answered all questions. I hope we expand though.
I’ve been getting emails almost every other week since about 2.5 months ago about the $12 tickets.
That’s good. I hope they email all alumni and not just reg or former season ticket holders.
No we need better fans who actually care about UH
Yup, I had to check here. This is the first I’m hearing about it
Call the ticket office if you need the $12 tickets. Lower bowl almost sold out but any seats are good so it’s prob the higher up seats which is still good for that price.
They should email all alumni, but I bet it’s just season ticket holders or maybe just people who have randomly bought a ticket in the past, it would be a great question to ask the ticket office or Pez?
