Yep. I just thought that 300lb squat at full speed collapse on a prostrate, defenseless QB after the play was called dead should have merited some attention. You can watch the replay and see for yourself. I hate cheapshots, and the organizations that sanction and perform them. Nothing more, nothing less. The shining scarlet star of the situation was D’Eriq King himself. He got up and lived to play another game. The result could’ve been different. See for yourself. Watch the game again during that play sequence…malicious!
Everyone in a loss always claims missed holding, so I never really like to buy into that line…
HOWEVER… this was EGREGIOUS. And allowed at least 5 big plays and a score.
Hope we send the tape to the league office so they will do nothing about it.
I was more worried about our guys getting hurt as a result of these uncalled shenanigans than anything else. Sure OU was the better team Sunday but the refs seemed to miss a few calls.
yea but it was an AAC crew on the field. And the worst one of all the AAC crews.
big time college teams are notorious for intimidating the refs…alabama is maybe the worst about it…
Being at the game, I understand how intimidating it was for UH fans,
officials and the team. I was proud of the team and coaching and the
class both showed under the circumstances. I do believe we will
improve as the season goes along.
Ditto. FWIW, I don’t think it was an OU thing. This was pretty common from this crew (and AAC crews in general) in the past few seasons.
The uncalled holdings were bad. Really bad. But I was also really upset about the 2 TDs awarded to OU when the call on the field both times was no TD and you couldn’t locate the ball in any of the replays showed. I thought the rule was the call stands unless there is clear evidence to overturn. If you can’t see the ball, there is no evidence to overturn, let alone clear evidence. Maybe OU would have scored anyway, but there’s always a chance of a fumble or a stuff.
It went both ways
Our Oline held on every plan. They were ineffective even with holding
That’s not encouraging…

The horse collar alone on D’Erik should be enough to send to the league.
The league will come back with:
Glad you’re on board, but intimidated? Come on man. We came out tight no doubt, but I don’t believe intimidated. And fans intimidated? What does that mean? Our fans were cowered down in the corner sucking their thumbs with a security blanket? That’s ridiculous. Sounds like a UH fan not necessarily in the know, but buying into all the normal Cougar High prejudices.
Same ref that called our Louisville beatdown game at home.
