Remember that time we got into a shootout with BYU at NRG?

One of my closest cousins got married the day Case and the boys beat Ok State in Stillwater. I always joke with him that I’ll never forget his anniversary, and never forgive him.

One of the best games I’ve ever attended. Shame we let that one get away.

What a drama queen. No birthday party is THAT damn serious

Dang Joe Davis went from calling AAC games to calling the World Series lol
Talk about a career rise

I’m having a senior moment. I don’t have any recollection of this game. I don’t think I was out of town and this would be a game I would’ve remembered. It’s driving me nuts now.

(2013 is a year after graduation lol)

There’s a fair amount of NFL talent on that field.

Sure was. Hill was special.

On the BYU side you had:
Taysom Hill
Jamaal Williams
Alani Fua
Kai Nacua
Spencer Hadley
Kyle Van Noy
Daniel Sorensen
Uani Unga
Paul Lasike
Daniel Robertson
Bronson Kaufusi
De’Ondre Wesley
Michael Davis

That’s a fair amount of NFL guys on just the one side who are still in the league

Pretty incredible for two G5 teams at the time. Ridiculous they were gatekeeping them out.

Tbf - they weren’t all playing or were not yet starters.

For instance, Elandon Roberts, iirc, didn’t break into the starting lineup until Herman & co. arrived

Greg Ward was mainly being used as a WR, and occasionally as QB until this game against BYU.

My sister-in-law got married on the day we played at Texas in 1992. She obviously did not want me at the wedding or she would not have scheduled it for that day. I was more than happy to oblige her.

I think I remember people saying spread offenses don’t win championsips. You can’t rely on having to score 50 to win games. We need a more conservative offense and play good defense.

Say what you will, but Tony could recruit.

Yes I was at that game and went to the Big Woodrow’s afterwards. The original one by Richmond Ave. it was LSU night there…:

Let’s see who is old enough and remembers the UH vs TCU shootout back in 2003. The score was 62-55. Both teams were in CUSA at the time. Art Briles was our coach…

I was there neither team could stop the other and the last team with possession won.
