You can never predict grudge games against biggest rival. TSU-PVAM is that type of game. I really donāt know how the teams (not the alumni) see the UH-Rice game.

After last year, plus a new coach looking for his first UH win, I know thatās not true.
If this team plays defense like it did against the #15 Sooner team, Rice is going to be shut down. It will be nothing like last year.

We always think we should beat Rice, but that is not always the case. UH is Riceās super bowl so they always get extra hyped to play us.
Iām not sure this is an automatic win for UH.

If we beat Rice last year, we would have been 5-7 instead of 4-8 and possibly with the drunk still at the helm.
We will not lose this week.

Rice wouldnāt have saved Danaās job. The only single-game win that would have made it worth considering is Texas.

As I recall, UH raced out to a 20+ point deficit and got walloped by the smart guys. UH should be ready to play this year. Beating the smart guys wonāt save your job, but losing to them will damned sure get you fired.

They exploited our weak secondary last year. Our secondary is much better this year. I donāt see that happening again. We need to figure out how to score points though.

I feel good about reclaiming the Bayou Bucket Trophy and bringing it back to its rightful home. Coach Fritz and company will be 1-0 in trophy games and UH will get its first win of the season.
We do need to win the trophy back before it is retired indefinitely.

I believe that Jason Wittenās son is committed to play there next season, too.
If we donāt figure who to block it will be more of the same offensive production.
Rice made a big deal about getting the trophy last year, had a video on social media. Hope we show that to the team

Our defense is much improved and will carry us to a certain extent, but we still need to score points. So far weāve scored two TD in two games, just TWO, and one of them came in garbage time. Anyone thinking weāll just roll Rice in a cross-town rivalry game is kidding themselves. Rice is not that good and neither are we.

Exactly. Given how Rice has surprised us in the past I donāt see how anyone can look at this as an easy win. Weāre going to need to show that we can score some points, and I hope that starts this week.
