OK, I get it. I agree we’ll keep some plays in our pocket for Zona and Tech.

They don’t !

I didn’t watch the game, why would anyone, but for some reason Rice just collapsed and gave up 4 straight TDs to PV after having a 16-0 lead. PV wasn’t flukey either. They were able to move the ball against Rice. It’s not as if Rice turned the ball over a bunch of times. Game should be a physical mismatch.

UH should be done with them by halftime and well rested for the next week. AZ is on ESPN that night.

right now Rice is undefeated and tied for 1st place in C-USA. I really hope our team is preparing for Rice like it is the biggest game of the year. Remember Troy beat LSU in Baton Rouge last year.

Troy was coming off a 10 wins season and went on to win 11 games. Rice is coming off a 1 win season and almost lost to a SWAC team. If this game is close at all in any way, we should be very worried about the season.

Cary or others, do you think Rice was playing conservatively as well but then got down and got a bit worried? Seems like they’d beat PV 8 times out of 10. They got down but didn’t give up and got the winning FG. However, they could have lost to a SWAC team

PV was 6-5 last year and beat TSU 30-16 in its last game. They aren’t abysmal but still should be worse than Rice which can give 85 full scholarships to a top-20 academic school.

Yes, I think they played the 1st quarter well, then started messing around with personnel to see what they had thinking they were in control. Then PVAMU moved the ball on them and scored a couple of quick TDs.

Rice was up 16-0, then PVAMU crushes them on three drives at the end of the 2nd and beginning of the 3rd quarters. All of a sudden, it was 28-19, PVAMU. They had to scramble to get back into it.

Yeah, you don’t take your foot off the gas with only a 16 point lead.

Actually, you should never take your foot off the gas!

Benedict used to do that when he was here. He learned to stop doing that while at Baylor. Maybe it is a new HC thing.

Kendall Briles first TD was at
OU. We went up 7-0. OU led 49-7 at the half. Takes “foot off the gas” and wins 63-14. OU was up 77-0 vs. A&M in the third quarter. Won 77-0. At least go all out until halftime.

That TD from Kevin Kolb to Kendal Briles was a thing of Beauty at OU!!! (First or Second play of game) We had an opportunity to go up 14 - 0
but drive stalled
OU pushed gas
63 - 14

7:20 mark

It was a 63 yd pass, then Battleship pounded it in a few plays later.

Oh yeah, not a TD reception but a huge gut punch and then Jackie Battle for the TD.
Battle had 8 years in the NFL ('07-14) with 1200 yards and nine TDs.
