Don’t see this posted but read that Simon Bott passed away. He was the only Professor in the 90’s and 00’s that pushed UH attendance and student support to games.
Rip. He was a good Prof too.
RIP Bott, one of my favs
It was posted originally in the Satellite section.
Across the various postsecondary institutions with which I’ve found myself affiliated, I’ve never encountered a professor remotely as beloved throughout the university as Dr. Bott was. The man was an absolute rockstar, and left an indelible mark on the institution. Gone far too soon.
He was one of a kind. We were lucky to have you. RIP Dr. Coog.
Dr Bott was a one of a kind true Cougar and is sorely missed.
My favorite Professor, I will never forget him. RIP, May God be with his family.
Dr. Bott, Dr. Joseph Pratt, and Dr. Shattuck were my most memorable professors - 2000 to 2006. They were, imho, the best in their departments, if not the university, if not the city, if not the state, if not the country, if not the world.
Our football program was 0-11 in 2000, if my memory is to be trusted.
2001
I’m so sorry to hear this. One of the most engaging persons, I’ve had the pleasure to be taught and supported by. He was my Chem Prof in Spring ‘00… Had no business passing his class but, he gave me a B! Wish I could have repaid the favor.
Hope he went easy… RIP.
Not a good year for multiple reasons.
