54.5% from FT line. That’s the ballgame.
I’ve seen this movie before.
Even Sasser was bad.
54.5% from FT line. That’s the ballgame.
I’ve seen this movie before.
Even Sasser was bad.
And Mark fouling out, he was huge on defense and movement on offense
On this very Board we have endlessly discussed our poor FT shooting.
Season, after season, after season.
Don’t have time to practice free throws when our players are busy practicing diving on the floor for loose balls. At some point coach needs to stop trying to make the guys football players and get some shooting specialists to coach them up.
One year shooting bad at the line, maybe it’s the group. Every year shooting bad at the line with new lineups, it’s coaching.
This all is on coaching.
You either Coach it to happen or you do not Coach it to stop.
I can’t believe people actually believe we don’t practice free throws. I’ve been to a few practices over the years. They do
Complete basketball ignorance
Where did I explicitly say we DON’T practice free throws? I stated the obvious that we’re not good at it and made the leap that we’re not either practicing them ENOUGH or our coaches need to do BETTER when we do practice them.
“Coach needs to stop trying to make the guys football players”
“ Don’t have time to practice free throws when are players are busy practicing diving on the floor for loose balls”
“ get some shooting specialist to coach them up”
I nominate this for dumbest post of the year.
You have ZERO idea what you are talking about!
Just stop while you’re BEHIND.
If the issue is not coaching then it is recruiting.
We sign players who are below par in FT shooting.
It is a forever problem.
lol You said a lot of nothing. You still haven’t grasped the concept of sentence structure. Please leave sports to the adults.
One player attempted almost 1/3 of our FTs.
You are too dumb to even argue with….
So I’ll “leave sports to the adults “
He has no clue what he is talking about Randy….best to just leave him be….Bless his heart.
So because Chaney missed some down the stretch we are recruiting the wrong players.
We just lost a game to a an uber talented team who made some great shots down the stretch. I think Bama was 8-16 at one point from line. It happens.
It’s so funny that people are defending an obvious trend that has snake bit us year after year. They’d rather lather themselves in “culture” and “toughness” than objectivity.
Here’s a question for them, how many of the teams that beat us, have the same “culture” and “toughness” ? If it’s many, then we’re not special; if it’s none, then the “culture” and “toughness” isn’t enough to win when it matters.
I give a nod to Baylor in the final 4, but every other loss, those teams only played with our culture and toughness when they played us. It’s not special. Especially if all you have to do is keep the game tight and get us in foul trouble.
We need to shoot better, if not, then Sampson needs not put his players in do-or-die situations late in the game.
Oh wow, you used two o’s in too this time. Still got the ellipses wrong. Please tell me you’re a math teacher at the middle school you coach PE at. Lord help the kids.
Not defending anything but I trust us from the line with 4 of our 5 starters and the 5th looks he will come around. Also trust our 2 backup guards from the line. Francis has improved and Chaney some early season struggles.
It was an intense game and the other team missed quite and as well. All the overreactions are funny.
I still believe this is a well coached team. Could this loss have been avoided? Yes. How is the debate.
We’ve been to a FF and Elite 8 the past 2 seasons, and we can’t win with it matters? Beyond moronic
lol let me define matters for you.
WE LOSE IN THOSE BIG GAMES FOR THE SAME REASON.
