It truly doesn’t make any sense when you consider that the President, VP and Speaker were all in attendance.
Barack compliments the Secret Service.

I would expect nothing less.
Agree 100%. That was the whole point of this thread. What amazes me is after what happened in July 2024, and then the incident at the golf club, you would think that making sure this stuff never happened again with Secret Service would have been a high priority of DJT and make sure it got done. Not blaming him at all, just surprised that it seems like nothing has changed.
Let’s try to avoid abbreviating the name of the Secret Service.
Thank you in advance.

Yep Secret Service has a problem. He actually got off 2 shots which
kinda confirms the kooks take on the security. Should never have gotten
that far along.
He got two shots off but neither were in the ballroom.
Engaged the Secret Service which ultimately got the better of him.
Listen to the audio, it sounds like more than two shots.
Some were likely from the Secret Service firing back.
They missed?
It happens. Remember when one of the other guys that tried to assassinate Trumpp aimed for his head? Did he hit? All right then.
And unlike Trumpp, this was a MOVING target.
Your conparing shots in a room versus shots from 150 yards away
Have you actually heard whether Secret Service fired shots?
My understanding is the agents never fired, which is bit surprising in and of itself.
Has anyone heard different ?
Edit - > A total of at least five to eight gunshots were fired during the incident, two law enforcement sources told CBS News.
So agents missed 3 to 6 shots, which is kinda bad too.
Handguns are notoriously inaccurate…and in a “fight or flight” situation shooting at a moving target…with one’s “lizard brain” fully in control…misses will occur.
The “bottom line” is this.
The secret service was competent enough to stop and apprehend the assailant without loss of life.
The would be assassin, by contrast, was completely INcompetent, insofar as he was unable to either a) assassinate his intended target(s), or b) at least avoid capture or identification in the process.
THOSE are the hallmarks of a “competent” assassin.
So trained agents go 0 fer and the running assassin goes 1 for 2.
I’m sure he could hit one guy at point blank range that wasn’t his goal.
In the end, “competent” assassins both a) successfully eliminate their intended targets, AND b) avoid capture or identification.
This guy proved INcompetent at both.
And in fact…the guys he called “incompetent” succeeded in stopping him, proving their greater competence in preventing his successful mission completion without loss of life.
NOW who’s incompetent?
Sounds like he was, they weren’t, and he has little room to talk.
Is anyone saying the specific unit that caught him was incompetent?
I think the incompetent comment is much broader.
And is anyone saying this guy was competent?
Anyway folks, Trumpp just got ammo for his narrative about needing a dedicated WH ballroom for such events.
A hotel is tough because they can’t prevent other people that have rooms there and have paid for or reserved them from coming in and out; at best, they can prevent access to the event venue, which is what they set up for.
