And so it begins!

Big Ten, SEC to talk possible scheduling partnership

Idk

Seems to me that everything that’s been happing/is happening over the last few months have been lining up with the demise of the ACC that’s coming, I assume, next February.

Big 12 has to absorb the best they can get from the ACC if they want to remain at the big boy table, and we should’ve added UConn for basketball.

Basketball, as of today, is the Big 12’s best point of leverage, but unfortunately, there are a handful of teams in the Big 12 that don’t want the conference to thrive uniquely because they still expect to end up in the Power 2

Hey maybe they just merge into one big conference and everyone else is out lol just the SEC/Big 10 conference

Two leagues down on their luck joining forces for the betterment of the sport.

They are jealous of all the attention MWC and Pac 6 were getting

That sounds ok. Who wants to see Alabama play Mercer? At least play Northwestern.

They want more CFP AQ.

So 8 from the big/sec, one from the G6, ND, and one from each of the big12 and acc.

That sounds so intriguing. I swear every time we get to something in college football that sounds interesting, someone has to come along and rig it some way so it’ll be predictable each year.

They can’t even wait to see how this year’s CFP play out before ruining it

Step 1 - The BIG 10, SEC, and ACC should all join together in a scheduling partnership.

Step 2 - Then all the teams should be split into pods based on geography.

Step 3 - We can call them things like SWC, BIG 8, Pac 10, etc.

The goal has been for these 2 conferences to break away from the dead weight in fbs for years. Everything that’s happened in the last few years was a methodical step toward that end, and I hate to be that guy but I doubt their plans include UH.

If the Big Ten and SEC do a scheduling partnership, then yes, UH is irrelevant because Ohio State/Michigan can just schedule Texas/Texas A&M yearly without being in the same conference

The beginning of the end

The same kind of people who want to see UT play Louisiana Monroe.

Reminds me of something I saw about an idea to bundle all the streaming services and reinvent cable.

The beginning begun a long time ago. I think were getting closer to the end of the end.

The Big 10 and SEC won’t be satisfied until they have suffocated the life out of all the teams in other conferences, with the exception of those few they decide to poach. College football is headed for the toilet, full speed ahead.

I mean I hate to say “I told you so”, but I did.

The only way to stop this train right now is to get Congress involved. If you don’t, then there will only be two conferences of 54 teams then eventually one conference of 36 teams. Just watch.

2 power conferences (SEC & B1G). B12, CUSA, AAC, MWC, MAC, SBC, and ACC will be the G7. Question is, do we make it in? Whether it be the SEC or B1G…

Edit - add in PAC 12 to make it G8.

I can see the future of CFB changing in an unexpected direction. Instead of poaching, expanding and merging there could be conference expulsions of of schools that don’t pull their weight in TV ratings that might effect the 100s millions contract negotiations.

But I can’t tell if this is a joke or not.
