No way UH makes it into a P2 conference scenario. And rightly so. UH is not on that level in football. But there would need to be a different arrangement for basketball. The programs that make P2 football are not all the same that would make P2 basketball.
If UH is not part of the Big Plan where the SEC and Big 10 form a minor league for the NFL, then Iâm okay with that.
The top 24-32 teams are the only ones that can afford contracts. Players will form a Union. So everyone will get money. The Universities will not be able to afford Title IX so they will sell the teams to owners. They will be college teams in name only.
Then the next divisions can play for actual universities and bragging rights. I will lose interest in the minor league like I did the NfFL.
I just donât understand the thinking from a tv executive standpoint. 12 team playoff, more access than ever, so more games matter than ever. If ratings are way up because of this, the executives should put the snobby blue bloods in their place and tell them to shut up. Alabama and Ohio State canât play each other every week. Sorry.
The question is why are ratings up? And can they raised even more by allowing SEC/B1G to do their own thing?
I have no idea, but Iâm sure the media companies have done their own market research, and all sorts of financial modeling.
They have already begun this !!
