My apology, I must not be observant, where on stadium grounds is there a sign that says The Cage?
You donât gotta see a sign on premises to know people / uh events / uh social media etc refer to it as the cage. Just google uh football the cage. Even stadium design DLR group on their site refers the exterior design as the cougar cage.
âCage Rageâ is kind of a big deal and has been a university-sponsored event for almost 10 years. But Iâm sure the name is a coincidence and has nothing to do with the stadium.
That is the coolest looking UH helmet Iâve ever seen.
UH = Universe of Houston
âThe Vomit Cometâ
Nicknames should be organic and donât have to be related to the stadiumâs official name. Between the hedges and The Brick House come to mind. You can also have the same nickname for two stadia such as Death Valley for LSU and Clemson. You can also have major stadia with no nickname such as UTâs DKR / Memorial or A&Mâs Kyle Field. I say we should just wait and at some point a real nickname will be attached.
Klingon Deuterium Tanker
Death Star
I actually think that âthe cageâ came about by a student vote.
Right. No reason to change it from The Cage. That never had anything to do with TDECU.
Kyle Field is known as Home of the 12th Man.
thatâs not really a nickname is it
The 12th man tradition and atmosphere is gone now ever since they moved to the SEC.
They have a female dance team.
The band, fans, and crowd all sing Power by Kanye on the team entrance.
Plus they have an in game DJ which takes away from the old traditions.
The Aggies have more traditions than the Bible has verses, so adopting new ones or losing a few wonât be noticed nor missed.
Spocks spikers
I thought that the 12th man was just the nickname of their crowd and all those chants they do?
It is but itâs not intimidating anymore once they got to the SEC.
Wow, I didnt know that. Lame!
Itâs never been intimidating. Itâs just loud.
