As we discussed on Sunday night’s show, Houston has moved Saturday’s spring game to the practice fields behind Melcher Gym. Still at 10 a.m.
There was an event at TDECU on Easter and the playing surface suffered some damage.

You would think it would at least be at the track field with bleachers.

Were they digging through the turf for eggs or what?
300 lb men can play football weekly on it and it’s fine……you let a group come in on Easter and it’s unplayable.

Reminds me of the stunt Bud Adams pulled in a pre-season game right before he announced the move to Tennessee.
Wheeler Avenue Baptist had an easter service there.

They must have significantly damaged the turf in the process of set-up or tear-down if there are “player safety concerns.”

From the pics it looks like the field was properly protected. Don’t know what happened.
I hope the church opted into the renter’s insurance. 
This could actually be quite a big deal to repair.

Track is hosting a meet Saturday.
It was some mega church called “The Avenue”
Hopefully they buy us a new field

I’m pretty sure it was the church across Wheeler - Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church.
They may have paid a fee to use it that includes set-up and tear-down. UH probably had some say in what contractor did that work if they don’t actually work for UH.
This probably isn’t on the church unless they were lighting fires on the stage or doing something to destroy the protective covering.
It would be great if they went back to natural grass.
