TSU vs PVU for a tourney bid is pretty cool. I will be pulling for TSU. A healthy TSU is a live dog as a #16. They beat Baylor and Oregon this year.

It’s really striking how bad the big-name colleges outside of UH did this year. It took me a bit to realize how bad the big picture was.

It hasn’t been good in awhile. Usually, there’s one or two Texas schools that do decently in the postseason, but the rest are also rans.

The only team is Texas that has ever done anything in basketball is UH.

I’d say UTEP (or Western Texas) had some success, but not much outside of that.

It is somewhat surreal how good the Coogs have become. We have a realistic shot at a final four and a legitimate shot at a national championship.

Think about that for a second. It has been 35 years since we could say that. Ronald Reagan was president and the Soviet Union was the evil empire. I don’t think Apollo Creed had been killed in the ring yet.
