Same here. And REALLY pleased with these results from the coaches. Peaking at the right time. Hope there’s a little bit of improvement left for the National Championships!
And maybe a heat wave up in Oregon would help too.

Dang…I missed Antrea Mita, a freshman, who qualified in the high jump going over 7’.
Great meet!
Yeah I’m hoping that Kelly can actually qualify in the 800
Michaela Mouton qualifies for National Championships in 400m with new PB, 50.96.
A top 25 time in the world this year.
Kelly-Ann Beckford qualifies in 800m with 2:03.99.
Sydni Townsend qualifies in 400mH, taking second in her heat.
Women’s 4x400 qualifies, winning their heat.
Michaela Mouton is a star in the making. Strong anchor leg for the freshman, coming from behind to take the lead on the backstretch and then holding off the Aggie runner to win.
That’s as a freshman. As she matures and gets stronger she’s really gonna be something.
Arkansas women just set the NCAA record in 4x400 at 3:21.92. More than 5 seconds ahead of any other team in the regional. BLAZING.
4x400 is so much fun to watch.
Well considering they went 1 thru 4 in the women’s 400 (two runners under 50 seconds, two barely over 50), that’s not a surprise. They could go sub 3:20 at the NCAA’s.
They also had two runners not qualify for the NCAA Championships who finished 14th and 15th at the regionals (in the same race where Mouton was 6th). That’s insane.
I looked up all time fastest 100m races (all conditions).
Louie Hinchliffe ran the 37th fastest 100m race of ALL TIME.
Houston men ranked number eight this week.
The unfavorable schedule in regionals was brutal. Hopefully due to rest and recovery all squads will run better. Our women look tired.
I thought the men performed great. Didn’t we win most of the finals we were in?
Correct… 100… 200… 110 hurdles… 4x100 relays… pole vault… discus…
Best part to me was lots of SBs and PBs. Times are still improving at this point in the season, hope that trend continues next week.
It appears they are peaking at the right time as far as UH is concerned My Coog heart wants them peaking now, but several of them need to keep the Olympics in mind. So hard to coach in an Olympic year. Tough balancing act for a world class athlete.

We don’t have a qualifier in the Long Jump? For real?
Next year you will have plenty. Leroy Burrell had a slight different philosophy for the team. Probably have a lot to do with the kind of staff Carl was left with. All being on the same page. Track and field needs the most consistency to be effective
What time are our events today at nationals?
