While I appreciate it, I wonder how much the Sand Aggies get from AT&T for their stadium naming rights?
Will that name be able to give UH Athletics 20+ mil as TDECU just committed to give over next 10 yrs today at the news conference.
No idea. Pezman & Khator & Co obviously felt the offer was in line to sign for another 10 yrs. Some of $$$ will go towards construction of Football Operations Center.
Edit: there ya go. See Ron’s post above.
Now we can add awnings!
Yes!!!

Edit: I forgot how much it was going to cost? ![]()
IIRC it has a budget of $75 million
The original contract in 2014 was $15m for 10 years. Under the circumstances, $20m for the next ten is disappointing.
Can you go ahead n grab the loose change from that Taco truck n bring frwd the remaining 35 mil.

TDECU has been a great partner well beyond athletics. I’d say a $5m pay increase in 8 years isn’t bad especially since we’ve moved a couple of home games to NRG.
From a tech website:
In August 2000, AT&T Communications donated Texas Tech $20 million, allowing the university to expand and renovate the stadium.
The cost is $78M.
And part of the donation n agreement was to have AT&T name be part of the name of Jones stadium.
Hence Jones AT&T Stadium. It was a one time gift n allowed naming rights as well. Seems UH deal is far Superior to TxTech deal.
Thks for looking it up Ron.
Wow, till 2034 is a long time. Guess both sides are pretty happy with each other.
Initial deal with TDECU was 10 years as well, which will end in 2024. It was 10 yrs for 15M. I guess the new deal is 10 yrs for 20M.
We weren’t members of the Big 12 when that first one was signed though.
