Big win for the AAC. Conference needed this one

It’s looking like a 2 team to the tourney conference. I expect Cincinnati and hopefully Houston to go dancing. UConn has no shot in making it. They lost their most explosive player and their talented freshman pg.

Keep an eye on Memphis. They haven’t played anyone yet, but they are taking care of business so far. They have, arguably, the best player in the conference and Tubby is a much better coach than Pastner. Their problem will be the same as ours: weak OOC schedule, but they might be able to do well enough in conference.

SMU still has a good team, and they beat Pitt before getting drilled by Michigan.

Also, UCF is looking competent under Dawkins and they’re figuring out how to use Tacko. Could be a dark horse.

I think 3 teams, at least, is likely: Cincy, SMU, Houston. Memphis is probably on the bubble, but the conference is still in good shape. National guys see UCONN struggling and think that represents the AAC; nope, plenty of good teams left.

They also beat ranked West Virginia as well. They’re about to be rank.

Another notch for the AAC.
