TEXAS BOWL: Houston vs LSU | FINAL: 38-35

I don’t necessarily see this as an advantage. There is a greater than zero chance that the players who are playing do so with more fire and passion, which from the outside looking in, appears to have been what was the main inconsistentcy on this otherwise very talented team.

If this game fails to sell out, I think UH fans should do the honorable thing and blame LSU fans for not supporting their team.

Yet Tanner Koziel who is projected 1st round is playing in the bowl game for us.

I can hear the announcing crew stepping through this list already to provide cover…

Well, it’s a personal choice.

Kudos for Koziel for playing, however, had he opted out, I find it hard to have disagreed with that decision.

impossible to count but if the coogs have more fans than their average home attendance that’s disappointing; but coincides with my theory that people are more likely to show up if the event has more bling.

That is definitely how Houston fans are

I’m looking forward to this game for us moving forward.

Yes, this is a depleted LSU team, with the opt outs, transfers, etc… they still have a ton of athletes on the team. Big, fast, strong.

I’m looking forward to seeing how we can stack up against that kind of talent.

I think our team is in better shape, as far as who is playing. I like our coaching situation a hell of a lot better. I think we win.

Here’s my take…

I don’t think the line was set based on who is more likely to win. I think it was set based upon Vegas having “ No Clue” how this might turn out, and setting the line to get more $ placed on betting.

On the one hand, you have a team (UH) that is on the rise, with a phenomenal, proven, head coach with a reputation for being a “giant killer”… facing a team (LSU), with an interim head coach leaving for Ole Miss after the game, saddled by a controversial incoming head coach (coming in from Ole Miss), and a team full of “opt outs”.

On the other hand, you have a team (UH) that is probably much easier to game plan against because they’re gonna do what they’ve done all season that got them there… facing a team still full of great athletes (despite the opt outs) who have played a much tougher schedule and will be very difficult to game plan against. I don’t really have much of a clue on this one either…

I’m gonna give the edge to the home team…

Coogs 27 - Tigers 24.

I’m not a hat guy myself, but that it one I wouldn’t mind owning.

True. Also, I noticed all but one player from their OL and DL are still playing. Most of those other positions are easy to replace when you have great depth.

I think the motivating forces for a lot of our players is getting to 10 wins and never having won, or for that matter playing, in a bowl game.

I’m ready…

I’ve got my leftover Prime Rib from Christmas Dinner, leftover Lasagna, a phenomenal Barbecued Meatloaf (made in the slow-cooker last night), a bowl full of home-mashed potatoes, a pot of beans, and about every kind of dessert you could ever imagine. Pies, cookies, brownies, donuts, tarts, lemon bars, cinnamon rolls, fritters, bear claws, cheesecake, etc…

My wife and I just bought a bakery this month…

Highest attended bowl coming into today was the GameAbove Bowl with 27,857. Texas Bowl is guaranteed to double that.

From what I have seen many Coog fans are selling their tickets.
Any idea of the expected crowd?
Even in a down year and so many kids opting out tonight I think LSU will be well supported.

Are they making a profit?

Where are you seeing that and how do you define “many”?

All I know is we sold our allotment a full day ahead of LSU. I’m expecting a pro UH crowd even if it’s 60-40.
