After watching the Hall of Fame game and seeing just how well Haynes King played and remembering how well he played at Georgia Tech, it got me thinking. His path seems very similar to Conner Weigman. Both were highly ranked HS recruits. Both were starters that lost their jobs after being injured and cast to the sidelines. Both transferred out and performed highly at their new schools. Maybe that’s the aTm factor to success, start for the aggies, get hurt and transfer out.

My post only applies to QBs who signed with aTm out of high school. Other than Johnny Manziel’s brief NFL stint, can you name another aTm QB who went on to NFL stardom? There may be one, but I can’t remember who.
QBs who signed elsewhere to begin with get a head start.
If Weigman had just came here first he might have beat the horns like every aggie wants.

I’m going to cheat a little here. Aggie QB who made in the NFL? Jerrod Johnson. Three years QB Coach for the Houston Texans and now offensive assistant with the Philadelphia Eagles.
To answer your question literally, probably Ryan Tannehill.
As I have said many times A&M is where QB’s go to die.They are Not QB mill. Far from it! You would be dumb to send your kid there if they have QB skills.

Guys who went on to have success at other schools…Kyler Murray - OU, Kenny Hill - TCU, Haynes King - GT and Conner Weigman - UH.
I would say Kyler Murray went on to NFL stardom winning AP Offensive Rookie of the Year and made 2 Pro Bowls along with mountains of cash.
Not sure about stardom, but there was Gary Kubiak back in the day. Had a long NFL career, mostly backing up Elway.

Wasn’t Bucky Richardson there? He had a decent NFL career as a backup. Stardom is hard anyways in NFL. None of our QBs achieved stardom either.
Bucky’s backup career was short.
Kubiak is the only aTm pro QB of any note.
Bucky started his career with the Houston Oilers. You never knew what you got with Richardson. One of the funnier plays in Richardson’s Oiler’s career.

Bucky’s son, JP, went to Ridge Point HS, and was a WR offered by UH, but signed with Oklahoma St. and then finished his career with TCU.

Keenum had a better pro career than any Aggie QB.

The Titans and Tannehill went to the AFC championship for the 2019 season.

He made the Pro Bowl that year, so I’ll stand corrected on that.
On the UH side, people forget about Bobby Clatterbuck at QB.
He was a QB on the 1956 NFL champion team.
