Nailed it. That is exactly why nothing will change unless and until one of three things happens (or a combo of all):
A state sues the CFP, ESPN and Fox
A team/university does so.
The other is if Congress regulates this stuff.
Sadly, Congress is more interested in regulating the players than the teams or the networks, which is really where all the problems lie. I will let you all figure out why that is (hint, it rhymes with honey).
And here we are at the end of the season and we can see why the biases in the polls works hard against us.
Tennessee and Mizzou were ranked for 99% of the season but neither team beat a single team with a winning record. But their being ranked propped up the 8 wins other SEC teams had over them.
Meanwhile, Arizona State, Iowa State, and TCU all finished 8-4 as well but each team was barely ranked all year. Not sure TCU even sniffed being ranked. But those 3 big 12 schools all have quality wins.
It’s a rigged system. ESPN and its cadre of paid sycophants in the media prop up mediocre SEC teams so that even when the bigger powers lose, they win. Total joke.
