I learned on an old 1990 toyota corolla went to a civic 98 and ended with a 2002 rsx type s.
Loved those cars and to shift in traffic. I burned the clutch once on the rsx and got into so many problems with the rsx but man those were fun times. You can still rent manual cars in Mexico and europe. They should keep atleast some in circulation for people to learn or rent

A clutch is going to be a lot cheaper than an auto transmission to replace. I’ve done it a few times on both.
Had a 2011 Jeep Wrangler that lost a transmission at around 100,000 mi. Jeep are notoriously unreliable though. Still love it. Still have it.

I had a Jeep Wrangler for a few years and I truly never had a single problem with it.
The only reason I traded it in is because I needed a more fuel efficient vehicle for my long commutes.
They are notoriously unreliable, but fun as hell. I’ve had mine for 15 years though, and have no plans to get something else, as I work from home.
I also off-roaded a lot when I first got it, so maybe I break things more often.
I had a '98 Civic 5-speed for a couple of years - forgot about that one. For those cars, a manual was MUCH quicker than their auto transmission.
I replaced it with a stick-shift Maxima. That thing ran freaking hot - loved that car.

More than I expected. Pretty much all of those are driver’s cars. None of the ones for people that don’t care about driving but care about simply getting from point A to point B.
