Fast work.

Fast?

They were called in a few days after the disappearance.

Hours after the video of the perpetrator was released to the public, the FBI have a person of interest. I would call that fast.

Ransom note Feb 2nd
FBI offered a reward on Feb 5th

The case feels slow moving to me.

Perhaps you watch too many television detective shows that solves a case in one hour.

It’s “slow” because the FBI had to recover the footage from the door camera.

But make no doubt, they worked tirelessly to recover that footage, and they should be commended for that.

If anything, the sheriff’s office goofed it up by allowing people to come and go from the property after she was reported missing.

Do the kidnappers ever get away with it?

Let’s wait and see how this turns out.

I hope they got the right person but a little early to assume that.

That your opinion?

Um, clearly.

Once the authorities are involved, how can they get away with iit?
I’m pretty surprised anyone would still try this in America

And they can only be detained for a certain amount of time.

Small town law enforcement departments are seldom equipped to to solve crimes that receive national attention.

Examples:
Jon-Benet Ramsey
Idaho student murders.
Tucson kidnapping.

In those cases the FBI had to take over after a delay of being called in to investigate.

The sheriff’s office made the arrest after a traffic stop.

This article about doorbell camera footage is interesting.

This doesn’t necessarily mean he’s not the guy but the person of interest has been released.
