The only 2 Donovan Smith stats that matter after 2 games are: record 0-2 and 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions.
Win as a team, lose as a team.
We didnât lose yesterday because of Smith.
See the âbadâ and the âuglyâ for the reasons we lost.
He led the team with 3.0 yards per carry.
I saw them but if we continue to play Smith we will lose a lot of games this year.
I understand the critique but Iâll tell you what Elmo Wright told me about this season.
He said since we know this is a rebuilding year under Coach Fritz, (who he has met and had a great first impression of), he says it is better to watch the season for progress. He said to look for development and improvement moreso than wins and losses. He said you will enjoy the season more that way and it will provide a fairer assessment of the team in a rebuilding phase.
I donât think Smith is a great QB but it is fair to say he played much better than last week. I appreciate the improvement in a very tough environment and after a horrible game last week.
Thats great for those of you have 3 or 4 years for us to start winning. Some of us donât.
I hear ya, OldTimer! Just hang in there. It could happen sooner than you think!
Smith was definitely NOT a reason for this weekâs loss.
Last week was a different story, but again, it appears that our O-Line stepped up its protection.
Fearless prediction.
We will win.
I wonât say by how much, but we will win.
Smith will never be a star. We just need to hope he will be decent and not turn the ball over.
I would still like to see Ale, but I heard he was injured.
Next year we need to upgrade the QB situation.
100%
Expectations for W/L record are low, but expectations for improvement are very high.
Ale was QB2 last night while Chriss is out injured.
Turns out teams can look really different, game to game. Danaâs teams often proved that point.
Enjoy basketball in these years
Honestly, this is how I hope the team under Fritz contrasts with Holgorsen. Sustained progress and consistency were missing under Holgorsen.
Hard to build a successful foundation and program when you are just winging it week to week based on how much pressure you receive from bosses.
I think the QB difference between this week and last week has less to do with smith and more to do with Fritz. He recognized Smiths weaknesses and tried to work around them. Very short passes.
Smith isnât the Keenum type of field surveyor and check down, scramble type player. The majority of the routes run last night by the receivers were to free up the one receiver Smith was supposed to throw to. Thatâs why he eyed that receiver the whole time and couldnât figure out what to do if that option wasnât open.
OldtimeCoog: Remember the saying, âthe more you complain the longer God makes you live.â
I thought they played with heart and way above my expectations. Letâs find something to be happy about with whatever we get for as long as we have.
More to do with the offensive line than Smith. To look down field you need time, he wasnât getting any time. But he needed to speed things up anyway. So yes Fritz made good changes
I respect the heck out of you but on Smith we will just have to disagree.
