Quote from recent Sam Khan article in The Athletic:
In recruiting, very little will change about Dykes and his staff’s successful approach from their SMU days.
The blueprint “doesn’t change at all,” Dykes said. “Recruit our own backyard, recruit Houston, recruit East Texas, primarily. North Louisiana a little bit. Oklahoma a little bit. Basically the exact same recruiting footprint as SMU.”
UT, TAMU, Baylor, and TCU are all recruiting Houston hard. Sure hope we get a boost with local recruits based on last season’s success and our move to the B12.
This is where Dykes gets dangerous. He’ll never be able to get his defense off the field in the B12. But his offense is gonna have a lot more juice with what he’ll recruit.
