Part of it was almost certainly the novelty of being the first College Football team to call a domed stadium home, before even the Oilers did so. Our attendance basically doubled when we moved into the Dome in 1965, despite a much-less-than-spectacular season.
So now The novelty of The Astrodome is gone.
Our Graduates live in the suburbs. An hour or more from Campus.
Said Graduates will not come if the game is on TV and is a day game.
Few buy Season Tickets. They make decisions week by week.
Every single week over 60,000 people are across the street from our Stadium.
