Tilman Fertitta ready to spend to keep Tom Herman as UH coach

Tilman ain’t kidding around.
"I absolutely do not think it’s a foregone conclusion that we’re going to lose our coach," Fertitta said. “Tom Herman loves the University of Houston. He’s happy to be coaching at the University of Houston, and I think there are only a few places Tom Herman would even consider.”

It may not be an objext, but I am willing to bet big that CTH stays. In fact, i bet he is going to ask for more room in the budget for his staff, recruiting/marketing …and a new grill.

The expectation is that he will go elsewhere to a P5 program. Now, does he want to create a legacy in a non P5 program? Mr. Yeoman could because we were part of the SWC. That is the question that he has to answer for himself. Could he create a legacy at USC, uta or other places? Sure he can/could but he will be another Coach in a long list of coaches. U of H is unique. There are a handful of FBS programs in the nation that offers the type of recruiting that we have. Briles, scumlin and now CTH have/had us nationally ranked. How many P5 or other G5 Schools can say the same? At the same time you have to look back at other successful G5 programs. What consistently happened? Major P5 programs refused to schedule them. You can be certain that if CTH stays major P5 programs won’t want to play us. That is their best way to make us irrelevant and steal away top recruits. Remember it is all about the strength of schedule. I am sure some of you have pointed this out. It is and always will be a major concern for every G5 program that wants to get into a top ten ranking. That is why we have no choice but to get into a P5, any P5. Unfortunately I am not optimistic for the reasons stated above. I want him to stay but the small12 snub was the reality of college football hitting us straight in the gut. This has nothing to do with sports but everything to do with money. I keep repeating myself again but this is the reason why we are not in a P5. The uta, atm and others are scared beyond belief of what we will/could become in a P5. Switzer and others were pretty clear about it. When we will we will win National Championships just like Alabama on a consistent basis.

That is why I know refer to the big12 as bwc big weenie conference.

I do not have an appropriate small12 decription. None that is rated R, PG13 or below.
