Timarcus Davis decommits, commits to Baylor

Lose another one. Baylor’s coming hard after our guys.

sigh. just waiting for Sanogo to go any day now.

Chaisson recently released his top two. LSU and tu

what are the chances of us getting back up to 20 recruits?

We are getting murderd right now in recruiting.

Is it just me or is there a whole lot of recruiting decisions being made during the dead period ?

As if the dead period means anything.

We are getting Murdered because of the silence from our new staff or there lack of. Holding out & being secretive about who the DC or potential DC is going to be is absolutely ignorant. This is the day of now. Twitter runs recruiting. I think CMA is scared of it!

I really doubt he committed because we have not announced news of a DC. Although he was committed to UH, he was also offered by other P5 schools. Don’t be surprised once February 1st comes and many athletes flip last minute to UH. R-E-L-A-X!

Want to make it more of a conspiracy? Two 3 star recruits decommit from UH and SMU on the same day and both commit to Baylor.

32 schools have had decommits since the dead period started.
Georgia State leads with 8, Houston with 4, FAU and WKU each with 3, SMU, Louisville and Tulane each with 2 and the other 27 schools with one each.

Just so we are all on the same page… “During a dead period a college coach may not have face-to-face contact with college-bound student-athletes or their parents, and may not watch student-athletes compete or visit their high schools. Coaches may write and telephone student-athletes or their parents during a dead period.”

Davis is a quiet kid who didn’t say much. 2 days ago, he was offered by Baylor which is an hour down the road from where he is now. We had 3 guys in last year’s class that are CBs to go along with Winchester. Baylor has basically no one. The kid saw an opportunity to start earlier and closer to home and took it. May have flipped even if our old coach stuck around.

Young is the only guy we’ve lost so far that seemed solid before the change.

Any others that aren’t solid? When a team loses 30% (6 out of 20) of it’s 3 star recruits over a 5 week period with 5 more weeks to go, is it wrong to worry just a little bit?

If Sanogo stays with us, I’d be very surprised. If UT offers him, I think he’s gone and Ole Miss is coming hard so he may go there.

Ogbannaya is another guy that I would be very surprised if he stays. Was a Giles guy and is starting to get a lot of P5 offers.

It’s hard to tell with the rest. Young was pretty solid, yet flipped. That may have been due to his former coach moving over. Smith, Grace, Duke, Bernard, Singleton, Bardwell, Cosmi, and Anderson are all solid (Hopefully Anderson and Grace can make their grades). Gooden, Eichenberger, Parish are pretty solid from what I can tell. It would be shocking if they flipped

Stiner’s another quiet one, but is close with Duke so hopefully he stays.

Add in the kicker, Witherspoon who’s already signed. That’s 13-15 guys that should stay and I believe we only have 20 to give.

You have to remember most of our best player’s in the past were underrated 2 star recruits. Hopefully there are some 2 stars out there that are being over looked. I think anyone committed to UofH right now is a target.

** star guys per rivals - Cameron Malveaux, Brandon Wilson, Steven Taylor…
