If anyone is to be compared to CTH is gotta be Kevin Sumlin. Dude quit coaching UH basically the week of the CUSA Championship game with a potential Sugar Bowl birth on the line so he could go to another hated team, the friggin Aggies.
At least Briles left after a good but not great season and nothing really on the line but an average, and ultimately meaningless, Texas Bowl game.
We heard different things. I heard that the 2nd Baptist pastor encouraged him to go to Baylor and that when Maggard asked what it would take to keep him, he said that this was a move that he had to make (Big 12). Seriously. You really think that Maggard would just let the best coach UH had in a long time walk if he could help it? I don’t think it was a matter of Maggard not wanting to upgrade facilities but just that he couldn’t. The budget/ donors weren’t there.
But deep down inside, he’ll probably be using that laugh as a way to hide his eye-twitching.
I have a feeling that guys like Herman hate being the butt of the joke.

Memphis gave Calipari a warm welcome coming back to Fedex stadium. We were in AAC and the move was to his alma mater in B12, easy decision. CTH was a big part of 2016 Peach Bowl success. Everyone is welcomed back, if CWF is good with it, we should be too.
There’s nothing wrong about Tom Herman leaving. But when asked if he was leaving before an important game, Herman denied it on National TV. He then left Houston for UT days later. He could of said, I’m not going to discuss that instead of straight up lying. Lying to your fans, other coaches, and players shows your true character. There’s a reason Herman isn’t a head coach anymore.
He was being asked on tv about the lsu opening, so technically…

No, the reporter told Tom that there were rumors that multiple schools were interested in him and that he might not be the coach next year.
And Tom Herman denied those rumors and confirmed those rumors were false. He signed with UT shortly.
