I’ve always felt it’s called trash talk because the people who talk it are trash.
I hope the kid shows more dignity when he’s representing UH.

Football and Basketball players jaw back and forth on every play but Baseball players see relatively mild celebration after a once in a lifetime moment and they start throwing tantrums about unwritten rules and trying to hurt a guy. (Because that’s the “classy” thing to do!) Softest sport on the planet. Softest fandom on the planet.

NO ONE gets pissed if you round the bases and celebrate like crazy…NO ONE…Big difference in jawing and what he did…you do that act in Football or basketball and hands are flying as well

Unless you saw or heard something particularly egregious in that video that I didn’t, this is demonstrably not true. There are clips all over the internet. Basketball players hit each other with the “too small” gesture all the time and that would spark an international incident in Baseball. Cam Newton made a career out of the exact same “Superman” gesture that seemingly has everyone up in arms here.
Football throws the taunting flag, basketball refs will hit you with a T…it’s all good, the young man will learn from it and CWD and staff will stress some things

Kids see pro and college players doing it, it spills down to courts in neighborhood parks and kids are shot to death. It happens all the time. Sure, it’s not soft. But it’s not fun either.

maybe don’t give kids who don’t have the emotional maturity to handle that access to weapons?

Tomball wins their 3rd state championship.
2nd in 3 years as Kingwood knocked them off in the title game last year. 2024 they beat Pearland and 2026 Houston Memorial. Glad to see my hometown get another championship. I only played baseball from 1995-2001 when we lived in Tomball. 2001 moved to Ganado where I played something other than baseball for the first time ever.
