Tough place to play, especially for A&M.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained. What a losing mentality this post reflects!
Don’t blame me, I voted for Hoover.
I went to Baton Rouge twice, in 96 and 99 to watch us play LSU. At a cafe before the game, some waitress told us LSU was gonna kick our ass. At the game I was there cheering for Houston, and I didnt just have stuff said to me. I had stuff thrown at me, including glass bottles. Half their fans are drunk…Never been to a worse place to watch a game. They actually have a chain link fence running down the stands to separate LSU fans from visiting fans, in order to protect us more.
When UH played at LSU I became a fan of LSU as well. Getting off the alumni bus and walking thru the tailgate area and having LSU fans yelling “Tiger Bait!” and then handing out beer and food was the start. Then you get seated and the band walks out to a packed stadium and starts their pre-game and the place goes nuts. Made the hair on my arms stand. We beat LSU 20-7 and got Gerry DiNardo fired and LSU hired Nick Saban after that for a Natty.
Probably because UH (Kim Helton) w/ Ketric Sanford and Antwoin Smith was blowing up the LSU defense and we were leading 34-14 and LSU came back to beat us 35-34 due to Kevin Faulk. We just couldn’t stop him in the 4th.
Hitler was in office.
During the SWC days we would play them in October and the temperature was sometimes in the 90’s. Of course the Aggies stand the entire game which means everyone has to stand.
Plus they’re aggies. I walked out of a restaurant when the waitress led the customers in a “Beat the hell out of Cougar High” yell.
I NEVER assume a loss.
