Yes. But his dad is just deeply ingrained in the Las Vegas basketball scene.
Dedan also thought Josh Jefferson would be a Rebel this offseason. Didn’t work out.

I’ve made clips of him playing defense this offseason from Oklahoma debating him being great in D. Argued numerous time about him being good enough… called out numerous folks for underselling him… whats odd is that you commented on half of those interactions…is your memory bad??
I’ll own my truth, yes I wanted the bigger, but wanting bigger fish doesn’t mean what we got is bad. I questioned his shooting, but said UH PGs don’t need to be great shooters

Let’s be honest. Milos was not anyone’s preferred portal pickup. That includes me. I was wrong as hell.
Dude may be the best portal pickup of the offseason. And a lot of that goes to our staff. But even more goes to Uzan.
He’s so good, man. And crazy how much his game has grown in 1 year. He’s special. I selfishly want him back next year. But as each game passes and he continues to get better, that is becoming more and more less likely. Let’s just enjoy him for these last 6.

i agree and owned that too… im honest that i wanted a bigger fish… i noted this all of the posts… but wanting a bigger fish doesnt mean what you got is bad …
i was debating how good he could be, here are clips of all the screeen shots i made in the summer trying to hype him up
I am worried about kingstons shooting, someone else noted like 2 weeks ago that i was worried about uzan shooting, and he is shooting great… and i noted that is fair and we can hope that for kingston too… (a point on just the shooting)… he took that inch and ran a mile with it, and he revisionist historied it to saying i was downplaying him all offseason (all of his game) and tries to regularly bring it up, when it was just the shooting i questioned and even noted we dont need our pg to be great at shooting

Uzan showed flashes as a freshman that he could be a good shooter.
The growth I have seen is just off the charts. For me, I would not be comfortable with 2 or 3 freshmen in our starting 5. I think Samp would work the portal and Dent or Thomas would be our starting PG next season, in the scenario that Uzan goes to the NBA.

dent is the dream, but the portal bidding war for him might be crazy… and we aren’t that desperate to offer like 4-5mil… someone is
realistical i think it would be dedan, jaland lowe or jizzle… as the portal bag for them wont be huge and sampson has strong ties to all 3… just guessing on how sampson recruits
Jizzle’s dad wanted him to transfer here last year and we passed. I don’t know if he showed enough this year. But neither did Uzan last year. But Jizzle’s shooting can be horrendous.
Jaland Lowe would be intriguing.
