Fyi… he’s brought up n discussed on the Transfer Portal thread.
Maybe thinking that he could be transitioned to play safety? Is he still 195 lbs.?
Samford roster had him as a LB 6’2" 222
This kid is a 6-2, 235 pound LB who has really grown since HS and comes to play. Phil Steele listed him as a 2nd team all american in 2019 when he was a freshman! I believe he sat out 2020 for covid, but had another great year last year…Samford competes in the very tough Southern conference in 1AA, with Furman and the Citadel and those schools…Coach Early LOVES him as an LB!

Looking at his Samford page, they say “2019 Phil Steele Second Team Freshman All-American”. So the freshman part was prerequisite.

Let’s hope Coach McDaniel likes him at linebacker too since he is the position coach
