I just generally donât believe professional franchises claiming âintegrityâ as the reason for not signing a player. Heâs simply not worth the trouble for them right now.

The CFL just canât handle an ascendant Texas Tech.
Techâs ascendancy is not a problem for the CFL. It is for quite few others.
Then you donât know very much. Even as it has become widely accepted (side note: yet another example of the slippery slope that began with state lotteries), it is still highly regulated and limited to certain states and sovereign territories (like reservations, etc.), so it can absolutely be illegal if you do anything to skirt those limitations. It is possible, maybe even probable, that Sorsby did just that.
My personal view on B. Sorsby is that he is the source of all his problems. He made the choice to gamble when he was underage. He arranged to hide his gambling by using surrogates. He chose to gamble on Indiana when he was there. He chose to gamble on Cincinnati when he was there. If he had not gambled on his own teams and college football then it would be a different story.
And every reaction heâs had after is to skirt accountability and hide from consequences.
Had he released a sincere apology to Tech and his former teams, said he was getting help and humbly said heâd prepare for the draft right when this brokeâŠ. I think the NFL would have given him a supplemental draft and heâd have been picked for a 3rd or 4th. Heâs made it all so much worse for himself.
