Tune and Dell Appreciation Thread

They worked great together and were a team, like Batman and Robin.

The end of the season in college sports always makes me think about how cruel the passage of time is. We get, optimistically, four years to watch these kids, and often by the time they come into their own, we only get a few games with them before they’re off to the next stage of their life. I know we got more time with this bunch in particular than we do with most others, but it will never not be a gut punch getting to the end of the season and realizing that this team is never going to play another game.

All of that is to say, it’s been a pleasure to be on this journey with both Tune and Dell (and the other seniors – shout out to Twinmom) over these last several years.

Congrats to “The Dynamic Duo” Tune and Dell on scoring the game-winning TD.

BEST QB WR COMBO SINCE YEOMAN!!! DONE DEAL BABY

Hard to compare the current era with the R&S era. Statistically, the R&S era was more productive. Tune and Dell have certainly written their chapter in the all time greats of UH football.

I’d revise your statement to say Best Duo since Sumlin!

Add Klingler to Hazard and we can do business together.

Interesting to see what people who have no attachment to UH think about Tune’s talent:

To be fair, the knock on Tune was never his arm strength, and anyone who can see past his skin color can see that he’s extraordinarily athletic. What he got heat for was his decision-making – especially early in his career, he had a tendency to feel pressure and either try to scramble out of it or yeet the ball at the first red jersey he saw, which was often someone in double or triple coverage. Granted, the NFL falls in love with guys like that all the time.

Imagine the return on investment for the NFL team/coach who can have the patience and commitment to help Tune overcome that issue! If Tune can consistently make better decisions, he could be an NFL starter, IMHO.

Heard that Anthony Richardson could go number 1 overall. And a team will turn him into Jalen Hurts.

Good luck with that. The GM that does this should be fired.

I love the Josh Allen comp. I’m not sure his arm is as big as Josh’s, but he plays a lot like Josh.

He’s going to be a steal for anyone that takes him.

Tune’s combine numbers indicate that he’s an elite athlete as far as qbs go:

Tons of mocks in 1 place.

I said a while back to watch Tune at the nfl combine and see if his stock becomes a hot commodity.

I stand by it.

The program could not have a better “face” than the fine young gentleman named Clayton Tune. Big fan.

Mock draft?

Maybe the answer to the mock draft is in the actual name…mock.
Tom Brady 6th round almost went undrafted
Joe Montana 3rd round which at the time was considered extremely late.
Now let’s look at 2017. What happened in 2017?

What did you notice?
Trubisky picked at #2
Mahomes picked at #10
How in the world could the Bears pick Trubisky over Mahomes?
Did he fit the coaching staff system?
He is no longer there and neither is the HC.
IMO the draft is #1 the reflection of the organization . Why is it that we usually have the same teams or often the same teams in the playoffs.
