FTs saving Purdue. They’re shooting around 20% from the floor.

Until just a couple minutes before halftime, all Purdue scoring was from two players: Edey and Loyer. A bench player hit a couple FTs with two minutes left in the first half to add a third scorer for Purdue.

That’s nuts. Purdue doesn’t look impressive at all. Tennessee has done some impressive things but still can’t separate from Purdue.

This is the first time I’ve watched Edey for an extended period. Other than his size he’s not very impressive. Slow and not very skilled. As Jimmy Reed sang, “You just tall, that’s all”

Yah but it’d be open 3’s for days with our guards and I don’t think playing slow would be the worst thing for us given how stingy we are defensively

He’s a great college player but we’d have to play a different style of basketball than what makes samspson teams great. Eddy doesn’t seem like,the kinda guy who’d fit in here

Edey can’t move his feet, he’d never play defense for Sampson.

Best comparison I’ve got is Cam Tyson’s defense. He always seemed like he was wearing concrete boots covered in mud.

Agree. I’m in the camp of if CKS made it work with Carlton without 2 of out best 3 players, why couldn’t he make it work with Edey?

Carlton is way more athletic and quick. Zac is skilled, but way slow.
