UCF Athletic Director speaks out on College Gameday segment

A) that would change with a fair chance to get in, but also you make MORE money by making it fair and increasing the games. You are increasing your prospective viewership. Sunbelt and MAC fans then have a reason to watch more games during the regular season and postseason. Any people living in the areas of MAc and Sunbelt teams and MWC and AAC teams all have added reason to watch. Their hometown teams now have the fair chance they deserve.
Any other option means the decision makers are stupid and shortsighted.

Every change that has happened has led to more P5 control. The cartel is only getting stronger. The only way to stop this scam is for Congress to intervene. We can debate this over & over again. It leads to the same conclusion.

No! Very much disagree. AAC has earn P6 status. We need that automatic bye. If we don’t get it now we never will. Our top teams can beat ACC, PAC, BIG 12@ 10. Some times SEC, example Auburn.

I hope this letter was CCd to Fox and NBC

No not end of story. No not end of hope. No not end of faith. NO, NO, NO. Tell that to the football player that play each week. Tell that to the next 5 star, 4, and 3 star who what to play for Houston. You keep working fo what you believe in.

UH and UCF are the only reasons the P6 movement started

It means nothing. We are a G5 until realignment

UH and UCF sell P6 to new recruits. If we get enough top recruits we will win. Look who is speaking up, Danny White. What about our AD?

What we will need is the TV money. NBC need to make the call. Maybe they will. Premier Soccer is not getting big TV rating. AAC rating are a whole lot better.

Perhaps UCF AD is more vocal b/c UCF has gotten word of limited to no “P5” potential. No ACC, Big12, SEC and propping up the “P6” is their best strategy. Maybe our AD & Admin is less vocal because we’ve gotten word to just be cool and things will shake out our way (PAC maybe?). Pure speculation on my part but a very plausible scenario.

Always put “P5” in quotes as it is an arbitrary and artificial term.

12 team playoff with top 4 getting a bye first round is the most ideal format. Auto bids go to P5 champs and top ranked G5 champ. That still leaves you with 6 at-large bids, plenty to make sure all worthy teams get in.

That’s still probably another 10 years down the road though. I can see the expansion to 8 teams in the next few years but 12 is still a ways away.

6 at large bids? Defeats the purpose of winning your conference no?

Maybe conference champs with a set minimum strength of schedule level can get automatic bids. If you are a P5 or G5 conference champion and you do not meet the strength of schedule minimum, you do not get an automatic bid.

I think that would be fair and even P5s would agree to it. If not SOS, maybe some other measuring standard.

If all of AAC won’t promote P6, ESPN, CFP and the Cronies wan,t. Houston AD need to promote what P6 stand for. PAC got their own problem. ESPN, right now on tv promoting
UT football.

I’d take the PAC’s “problems” over ours and the AAC’s any day.

Why do the P5 get preferential treatment? It’s D1 right? And those at larges, you think would go to a G5? I get it but not sure why folks want to settle for less than parity.

Needs to be all 11 conference champs plus 5 at large. End of story. I know, it’s unlikely.

11 conferences??

there are 11 D1 conference last I checked (which has been a while).

If you are counting Independent, that’s not a real conference.

What we really want is the same money, same exposure and that take time, AAC will get there. I like our conference.
