2 errors, a passed ball and a HBP just in the first 1.1 innings. Villareal does well to get out giving up just 1 run.

Grimsley doubles down the line on a hit and run. Lockhart froze on contact and should have scored easily, but ends up on 3rd. Whitting yanks him for Bielamowicz

Davis pops up to short right, but UConn allows it to drop. 2-1 Coogs

Romero now pitching.

USF wins 6-3, so we need to pull this one out.

Horrible start to the 8th. Triolo throws a routine ground ball into UConn’s dugout, followed by a bunt single.

3 errors now.

Train wreck. 7-3 UConn.

Romero obviously not game ready.
Using him in critical games, may not be the best decision.

Freshman Fred Villarreal earned his second career start and didn’t disappoint as the righty allowed just two earned runs on four hits with no walks in 7.0 innings of work. He handed the ball over to junior Seth Romero in the eighth with the score tied 3-3, but UConn found a way to face two pitchers in Romero and sophomore Aaron Fletcher in the inning, scoring four runs, three earned on four hits and a walk.

Freshman Brayson Hurdsman tossed a scoreless ninth, striking out one.

Romero would suffer the loss, falling to 4-5 on the year after surrendering three earned runs on two hits and a walk with one strikeout in 0.1 innings of work.
