Damn, didn’t know Purdue had never won a Natty in Basketball.
I thought they were a Blue Blood?
Well, I only care about one of your alma maters. 
And both the top Two have gone dancing 35 times. (We are not far behind at 27)
They are a Big 10 blue blood, but no natties.
Three FF and two championship games.
If I’m not mistaken, we have more FF & Natty appearances but we are not considered a Blue Blood…interesting 
Purdue has won 26 conference titles in their history. They are not so much a national blue blood, but rather one within the Big 10.
My mistake if I mislead anyone on the subject.
How could we be considered a Blue Blood? 0 national titles.
Ok, that makes more sense…
0 Natties (just like us - even tho we have more FF & Natty appearances), but they’ve won more championships in a P5 Conference, which we haven’t done consistently (only have 2, so far).
What about the SWC days? That’s at least two more.
So do they… but they’re not!
I’ve NEVER seen anyone list Purdue as a blue blood… Big 10 or nationally… you have to win it ALL repeatedly to be considered a blue blood.
Could’ve sworn Zags won a title. Especially with that Timme guy they had for like 6 years. But I guess not.
I tend to forget who wins the championship once the Coogs are out. But for some reason I can always remember the NBA title winners from years past.
They definitely made the Finals, but couldn’t win it all.
Sorta like UH.
I could care less of the big10 teams…because they have been in the big10 for decades. They have had unlimited of money. We are the exact opposite.
Now consider this:
We played as an independent for a number of years making it to the final four twice and losing twice against Wooden’s UCLA National Champions.
We joined the SWC in the 70’s made it to the final four three times. Again making it to the National Championships twice.
Then we got kicked out to the ditch/went into exile basically. In another words 99% of the population thought we would never be a sports power to be reckon with again.
We hired CKS in 2014. Few today remember how controversial the hire was. We got ridiculed for it. We were called out for hiring CKS. Again and as always we have had to think outside the box. We have had to do more with basically very little to nothing. Other programs have unlimited financial help. We operate and continue to operate on a shoe string.
What CKC has accomplished since 2014 is simply REMARKABLE
Think about it. He has done more with very little comparable to the other basketball blue bloods or our Texas neighbors.
I read from time to time posts that have no idea what our history is. Where we come from. How we got where we are today. I do lash out to some of you for one simple reason. Your attitude, your lack of gratitude means that you do not value your own school/program. You might as well have graduated from the prestigious online university of the Kingdom of Sumatra. It is not that hard to spend an hour or so to understand why we are here today.
