I’d go if I didn’t have a date with a beautiful women who would be normal waaay out of my league… so what I’m trying to say is both the coogs and I are currently winning.

I’m so proud of this team, win or lose (hopefully win) I will be drunk Saturday night in the river walk after watching these young men fight for our university

Have a good and safe night everyone, get home safe

I don’t think she would go for that lol! But I’ll definitely be watching the game.

I’m seeing UH -2

Per Bball reference last matchup in November 1991.

1983 was also an Elite 8 Matchup (Hou played in the title game that year per wikipedia)

Every since the December injuries I thought next year is going to be our best chance to win it all in the Sampson era. Well… we’re 3 wins away from doing that THIS YEAR! Crazy

What am I missing with Villanova? I’ve watched them a few times this year and they look absolutely mediocre. Their best player is unathletic, they don’t shoot particularly well, they don’t rebound particularly well, they don’t defend particularly well, they don’t take care of the ball particularly well (they don’t rank better than #40 in almost any team statistical category). They also only really have 2 impressive wins all year-- a neutral-site win over Tennessee and a win @Providence, and in the tournament they beat a bad #15 team and two massively overrated big 10 teams (and didn’t look particularly dominant doing so)… someone tell me what I’m missing.

They have a top 5 coach in the country, I think that’s what makes them dangerous. Jay Wright took a beat up over matched Villanova team w/o their best player last year to the S16. And tbh they gave Baylor a better game then we did

UH can definitely attest to how important that is. That’s always an X factor. Forgot about him

the final 4 is in nola… no one but us is remotely close

Im going to Nola and no one can stop me if we end up going to the championship game against whoever comes out. I believe in this team I feel we’re going to win it all. bring that championship banner and trophy home.

I remember three games. We played them back to back seasons in the tournament in the early 80s. Got beat the first year and came back to destroy them the 2nd season.
I believe we lead off the 1990 season by winning at by about 44 points at their place.

What a great short write-up by the NY Post. That writer knows 5x the information about our team than our local radio people.

Best line: ā€œVillanova, you have a problem.ā€

Agree , this team needs us. Houston fans need to come to San Antonio and drag this team across the line to the final four. They need us now more than ever. Can a group shuttle a bus or something.

Just to note, there are some matchups I like with. Villanova.

They essentially played 6 guys today with 4 players going 39,39 35 & 35 minutes.
They didn’t get a lot of production from their front court and don’t have a rim protector.

This will be a change for Carlton since Nova doesn’t have lot of height. He has gone through a gauntlet of centers the past 4 games.

In the 80’s they had coach Rollie Massamino. Interestingly, their game hasn’t changed much since those heady days. Still in-and-out. Still clock managers.

Bring another 5000 fans. Lets smother them.

Baylor beat them 57-36 earlier this year……I think we hold them to 50 and win by 10+.

So if she’s way out of your league what’s the point? You’re constantly gonna ask yourself why she is with you? Are you rich? If you’re not rich , either ditch her or bring her to the game……either way I just saved you a world of misery….you can owe me.
