UH vs OU Women's Soccer Thursday 7pm

I get this is the football thread but we should go attend and chant the following during the game:

During fight song, instead of “fight fight fight for red and white” let’s chant “fight fight OU Sucks!”.

Same with eat em up. Eat em up eat em up OU Sucks!

And if we win the game we all start chanting “SEC! SEC!”

Edit: I now realize how two of these chants have an obscene innuendo to them. Oops.

I apologize.

But still we should go for support anyway.

Well, in many parts of the world, soccer is also referred to as football, or futbol. But , don’t count me in the “we” as I will not attend another soccer match; I would rather watch paint dry, which while just as boring doesn’t take as long if you use acrylic paint.

So I’m going to drive 1 hr and get fired up to yell some obscenity at the opponent who happen to be females. Uhh no thank you. DO BETTER! Ridiculous. Some really bad ones on here.

Jess, I think hooliganism is what a lot of soccer fans aspire for.

Nah, I can’t give him that out. Just young kid that needs to Do Better.

Ah, I remember being 18-22 years old. Back then, I would have yelled something like that.

I’m a LOT older now. And my 2 cents is that it’s better (classier) to cheer hard for the Coogs and be respectful to the other team.

If he’s been on this forum long enough, he knows there’s way more of us on here in our 60s & 70s than the 20s something on here. I can see long time Coog Alum taking his granddaughter to soccer match n starts yelling some obscenity chant. Ohh boy!:smirk:

You guys going to watch women’s college soccer? You’ll be the only ones there not related to the players.

Agreed. I won’t boo our players or the other team. I will boo the officials all day long. The only time I’ll boo a player is for playing dirty… Like that Memphis player that tried to twist off our receiver’s leg a few years back. Dirty #$@&!

Worldwide, more people would agree with you; but in America, I would think not. Of course with so many immigrants, I can see where soccer is gaining in America. However, what is better is a matter of taste; yours and mine differ.

Come out and support our lady Coogs against OU tonite Coogs family. Huge game for us against big name school. No worries, we’ll play against Sam Houston later in the year as well. LOL. But seriously, Coach Bocanegra is building a solid program down in Cullen and they could used our support. All of our women sports are improving across the board.

Just when I was thinking of going to Lady Coog soccer match , you take a stab at my Mighty Lady BearKats soccer team. Staying home

Speaking for myself at least, I don’t think that’s the angle we’re taking issue with. It’s just being respectful of our opponents.

Personally I prefer to raise up my team, not belittle the other team. Those are somebody’s sons and daughters.

I agree. I am old school like that. I believe in and am teaching my kids that you cheer for your team. If you feel you need to yell something and then look around to see if you get an angry reaction to what you said, you are not cheering for your team. Every fan base seems to have those types.

Hello!

Oh okay. Normally CV3 wise it was left all on the field, just anti-opposing team chants. It’s a fine line with player remarks (similar to what we do in basketball with the band chants of height, mustache, etc).

Nothing messing with them before or after the game.
