UH vs Texas Tech Line

whats the situation with Tech - I havnt been following them.

am I seeing their QB is hurt? they seem to be not meeting expectations so far this year.

Shough, the starter, twisted his ankle on the Neer turf. Yesterday was tough with strong rain. Next week the game is sold out for Mike Leach Day.

I’m guessing that Holgy will be wearing a “College” shirt or something else to pay respect to his mentor.

Their starter broke his fibula in the WVU game. He actually played another snap before coming out. :open_mouth:

The backup is a very good passer, but he’s less of a running threat.

If Tech would stick with their RB more, their offense would look better. Brooks is a tough runner.

Good update. The Raider announcers said he twisted his ankle on the turf. Shows how little they knew before the medical analysis. They were even talking about needing more grass fields. Spoke a lot about needing to run Taj Brooks more.

Yeah, Brooks averages almost 7 yards a carry, but they don’t get him the ball much. It seems like they run the QB more, and with a QB who has been injured every year, that seemed like a bad plan.

I would expect to see more of Brooks this week.

Ugh…the one I posted before was last year’s kickoff line. We are a touchdown worse this year.

I think Texas Tech might be in what could be called the “cornered wild, injured animal” situation. Emotionally i think Houston will face a Tech team that is utterly desperate for a win, and will rally behind that new QB. The new QB will be getting all the in practice snaps this week and they will gameplan around him. I still think Houston can win but you might also get a Tech team that is even more fired up than if they had won in Morgantown and their starter was healthy. It’ll be intriguing to see that game.

No way he can stay another year. There won’t be anyone in the stands. He’s had too many chances the last 5 years and the program is a laughing stock.

Yeah, and their defense is still going to be ready to go, especially playing at home, regardless of what the offense is doing.

They could easily have beaten Oregon a couple of weeks ago in Lubbock, but for a couple of major brain farts. They’ll be much better at home than they have been in their road losses, for sure - they’re not the 2023 Astros.

It will be interesting to see how Donovan responds to being back in Lubbock. The Tech defense is going to be all over him, and he’s going to go through some things.

TT -9 at 7 PM down from -10 earlier today

Yep Taj Brooks is the one to be concerned with regardless of who plays qb.

-10 feels high to me. I’d say -6.5 feels right.

The right tackle for the coogs for sure did, big boy was gassed!
