Middle Tennessee State doesn’t agree. These games matter - a lot - to someone. Maybe it’s just you that doesn’t care?

That’s tough, again if u don’t win enough games, like 7 or more u just don’t get to go, not everyone deserves a “ribbon “, maybe it would make season games mean more and be more competitive, if they want to go bowling, then win the games. Not everyone is a doctor or a CEO , some win some lose, that’s life

There used to only be a hand full of Bowl games and you were lucky to get one, then everyone started moving up to Div 1 and they created all these games to give teams a place to play in post season. For the G5 schools especially bowl games are great because without them the season just ends and they’re great for the fans too. On a down year like 6-6 or 7-5 winning a bowl game can be a nice way for seniors to go out. I like the bowls, if you’re crying that a 6-6 team doesn’t deserve a bowl game, remember that the next time we’re 6-6.

Plus, sending a 6-6 team to a bowl is a great chance for UT to have another losing record

You misunderstand the motive. The bowls aren’t created by the NCAA. They are created by people that want to generate revenue for their city while lining their pockets with “gifts” for their effort. These bowls never lose money because they make sure the teams pay the difference if the teams don’t sell their share of tickets. The only power the NCAA has is determining how many wins makes a team bowl eligible. You can bet the bowls aligned with the P5 conferences toss some gifts the way of those in the NCAA that keep it at 6 wins.

There were three universities this year that were bowl eligible and not invited to a bowl game. UTSA 6-5, University of Buffalo 6-6 and Western Michigan 6-6. Not enough quality wins probably kept them out.

Quality wins has nothing to do with bowl selection. Tickets sold and TVs watched does. Always have. If WMU could fill a 60k stadium anywhere anytime, they’d be in a bowl. (Not saying we’d do that either. Just emphasizing a point)

There’s no misunderstanding, it’s all about money. More schools, more bowls and more money. They don’t care if they’re playing to half full stadiums or not with the TV dollars.
