Can someone in the know explain what has happened to our volleyball program. This coach started with so much promise. Is it lack of NIL? Someone had mentioned losing a key assistant. This is extremely disappointing.

I point out that UH Volleyball Team is very short. Perhaps the shortest in the Big 12.
I will be the 1rst person to admit I am not an expert in VB. But most teams in the top 25 play at least 2 players at least 6ft 4in or taller at all times. That means in todays women’s VB of the 6 female players on the court at least 2 are probably 6ft 4in or maybe 6ft 4in and 6ft 3in.
Stanford about 5 years ago literally had 2 players 6ft 5in and one 6ft 6in on the court at the same time about half the game. Stanford either won the National Championship or lost in the final.
Uh moved up from the American to the Big 12 Conference. When were in the American we probably only had 1 other team ranked in top 25. Big 12 will have 4 or 5 teams. We are in a top Conference where opponents are much taller. This year UH probably physically wore down against the taller teams in the Big 12 Conference.
Is there any hope for next year? We have a very good coach. UH signed a fairly highly recruited H.S. senior Ava Wilkerson who is probably at least 6ft 31/2in or maybe 6ft 4in.
We probably need to get 2 more VB players at least 6ft 4in or taller in the portal. We are in the Big 12 Conference and we are now getting the full amount of tv $$$. Hopefully we have enough NIL $$$. I’m not sure if Moran 6ft 4in(the 1 tall VB player we had who played) will be back next year.

Good analysis. VB season tickets are a great value, will definitely renew. A great sport to support. Much like hockey, you need to be there to appreciate!
