Vance came across as calmer and more articulate, though I didn’t care for a lot of what he had to say.
Anyway, I’m voting third party, so it makes no difference to me.
In the end, it was nice to see a relatively civil debate. You generally don’t see one when Trump is involved.
That’s part of the reason why I said it will depend on who you ask.

Walz seemed so focused on his message that he repeatedly allowed Vance’s lies to go uncorrected. That’s a sign of (1) nerves and (2) being over-coached.
Vance lied or deflected LITERALLY every time he spoke. So the post-debate fact-checking is going to be rather lopsided in favor of Walz.
But the above also explain why the debate was so calm and “respectful”. Vance was happy and content that Walz wasn’t challenging him on anything.
Walz wasting one golden opportunity after the next to force Vance to defend the outrageous lies and inciteful rhetoric he’s been spewing on the campaign trail. The only reason Walz is on the ticket is because he sold himself as the best attack-dog, but he didn’t take even one opportunity to go after Vance’s extremeness or “weirdness”.
I don’t know why people keep saying this. You can tell the entire country that Trump or Vance lies or is making up facts. It doesn’t matter.
These debates are simply about optics, and these types of 2-3 minute response platforms are not sufficient to talk in depth about actual policy
Vance clearly won this debate just from optics alone. Waltz looked similar to how Biden performed against his last debate against trump

Ha! No. Not even close in regards to Biden Vs. Walz. Biden’s performance changed the landscape. Walz did just fine. He was less slick, but only the most MAGA in this group thinks it was the disaster the Biden/Trump debate was.
Hyperbole like this is just silly.

This election cycle nonetheless has been quite embarrassing. Trump had it in the bag after the Biden debate. Then Biden got replaced with the assassination attempt shortly thereafter, which Trump had it in the bag even more.
And then Trump over the course of the past few months has been self sabotaging his own campaign, and regardless if I over exaggerated, JD clearly won this debate.
That said, is a mere VP debate enough to pull swing states to the right? Probably not. As long as Harris/Walz continue to keep quiet about climate change reform, they will get Pennsylvania
No JV Dance was not the clear winner, i just showed several sources making that clear.
He did improve his unlikeable numbers but he is still disliked overall. A lot of people saw JV not as slick but as slime, those are the optics

He clearly won. Was poised, and looked good. Looked Vice presidential.
Walz was… nervous… unsure… looked like he didn’t want to be there. Was it as bad as Joe was back in June? No. Walz came off, weird. Like imagine this guy in the situation room. Baffling.
Polling shows people saw him as earnest and sincere. Nice contrast to JV.
Look at the polls i posted, JV was virtually tied with Waltz in all of them. If what you are saying was true then it wouldn’t be close
I think you’re seeing bias come in. People see what they want to see in these debates.
My guess is most that see Vance as dominate last night think Trump did well in the last one.
Yeah, no. He’s a flipping governor who got nervous in a debate. I can easily imagine him in the situation room.
VPs don’t really matter until someone dies, so overall this won’t move anything.
No. I wouldn’t say that. I personally thought Trump looked foolish in that debate. I’ll leave it at that. Granted that debate wasn’t fair. Was 3 vs 1. But that is all I will say.
