Walker has stepped up

Great game by Walker tonight. He was on a schedule and this was not it. I’m not judging Walker at all this year but know this experience will pay dividends.

If the op is going to continue to make stupid posts like this, I hope his first post is his last …

Also coming off surgery to his shooting hand, shot will come around.

despite everyone giving you some slack, everyone would like to see ramon improve as a shooter too and hopefully it comes… he has a track record o being able to knock down 3s pre-uh (doing 30 a game in HS- mostly 3s)

but ramon in every part of his game other than the offense has been good for a freshman - defense, hustle, rebounding, composure

the part of your comment that i don’t get is “give someone else a shot” who is left??? the only player left after ramon is robbie, and robbie is drastically worse on offense (Robbie is a defense rebounding guy, with very limited offense) and your grip with ramon is offense …there is no one left after that …

Taze was 5-16 and Edwards was 3-11 and you are worried about young Walker? Tonight his ton of shots included 4-9!

Who would that be……?

If you look at Walker’s stats tonight, he was one of our more productive guards. BTW, Edwards was only 2 of 11 from the field and had 2 FTs for a total of 8 points. He had an off night, and Shead only played 17 minutes. Taze’s 6 assists helped cover his 4 turnovers.

I think that as Ramon continues to get comfortable with the level of game that the Coogs play he’ll become a more consistent scorer. With the older players we have, he only needs to contribute 10-12 points per game and tonight he did that.

He’s a tough son of gun. Seems like he gets banged up every game.

Do you ever listen to coaches press conferences? You do know that a short time ago he had surgery on his shooting hand right? Coach has already said his range of motion isn’t back yet. Tulane is the best conference team we’ve faced so far. They are a good team.

Agree completely, especially with them bringing their own refs :sunglasses:.

Looked to me like he grew up some in the 2nd half. Had a couple great finishes in the open court, made a three and shot his last one with a lot of confidence but rimmed out. Also had a nice cut and finish and 2-2 at the line.
Has always played good D and rebounded.

what I like about Walker is I think he has a clear path for development while he’s here – next year if he can just improve his shooting to where he’s hitting another 2 pointer and 3 pointer a game, plus a little playmaking with an assist or two, and continued improved d and rebounding and he should be a real nice role player

OP must only look at the box scores. Walker is a stud and makes plenty of winning plays throughout the course of a game. Kid has already stepped up plenty given that the original plan was to just red shirt him this year. He’s going to be big time player for us in the coming years. OP needs to step up his post game and actually start watching the games.

That’s why this team is so special… A different player steps up every game on offense.

I really feel like our ability to avoid stretches of minutes without scoring, due to our ability to score in the post, is going to carry us in the tourney this year.

Looks like no one noticed Walker on the bench with an ice pack on his left knee. Hope it is not serious. We don’t need to lose another team member.

the intial injury was a few games ago ( I believe the usf game), played in every game since…, he looked to have re-aggravated it on the fastbreak layup he had at the end of the game…
it seems to be an ongoing injury, but the fact that it hasn’t kept him out previously is a good sign that it wont keep him out going forward

I haven’t read this thread, but I agree that Jarace isn’t pulling his weight. Hopefully this will change but I don’t have high hopes for this year
