I doubt Willie (with all his experience) is going to guarantee a freshman that he’s the starter before he ever takes a snap. I could be wrong but I don’t see it.

I would say he’s a substantial part of our running game. He was our 2nd leading rusher for the year averaging 53.7 ypg. Conners was the leader with 70.9. Butler was 3rd averaging 28 ypg and it tails off from there.
Weigman rushed for 126 yards today and over 100 yards last game. I think that qualifies as a substantial part of our running game.

Weigman is our running game. It’s almost exclusively draws. Our Oline can open holes but it can’t push forward. It’s why DConners get’s most of his yards running outside. There are a lot of teams like that in our conference. Not sure if our conference has great run defenses or awful interior run offenses. The big exception being BYU. I think Weigman is the second best rushing QB in the conference. Even if he’s in the top four that’s excellent.

I’m patiently waiting for our HS recruits to mature and start filling more spots on the 2 deep. We have picked up some good kids and I’m sure they are being developed well. Let’s not forget we have the nation’s #1 rated recruit coming in to play QB as well as several other highly rated recruits. I’m looking forward to a time when we won’t have to depend so much on the portal.

Which is the best case scenario for Keisean. The step from H.S. QB to College QB is often disregarded. Keisean by all accounts has a high IQ. HCWF is the perfect HC for him making the next step.

Yup… make/win the CCG and then hand the keys off to Kei…
and think about the double, threat with Austin. I do see Austin replacing Connors. He has the speed, football IQ and vision for the open lane.
Yeah…we’ll see… I thought we could’ve used ZCG in dual QB packages, and other packages, this year… but instead he was mostly unused this season.

Weigman is an outstanding and smart runner. Because he is the QB, he does not get enough credit for his running game. He should have more running plays with better blocking schemes.
